T h u s o n e o b t a i n s a g a i n a m a x i m u m d e n s i t y of t h e v a p o r a n d a c o n s t a n t p r e s s u r e for s m a l l e r v o l u m e s . A s M a y e r h a s p o i n t e d out, i t is n o t p o s s i b l e t o p r e d i c t t h e d e n s i t y of t h e c o n d e n s e d p h a s e . A t high t e m p e r a t u r e s it c a n b e s e e n t h a t t h e bt will b e c o m e a l t e r n a t i n g in sign. F o r m a l l y t h e series (1) a n d (2) will b e then m o r e a n a l o g o u s t o t h e c o r r e s p o n d i n g series for t h e i d e a l F e r m i gas, w h i c h , as is well k n o w n , d o e s n o t give a n y c o n d e n s a t i o n .
