Other recent hot tap installations by OPD include an 18-inch by 12-inch tbdrol'ed~ damp in 185 fsw for Southern Natural Gas at West Delta Block 75 and a hyperbaric weld installation of a 20-inch by 16-inch HydroTech hot tap saddle in the Bay of Campeche in 250 fs\~ tot Corporacion de Construcciones de Campeche while under contract to Petroleos Mexicanos. For this latter project, OPD divers in saturation working onboard the barge I)I.B 2 ~ used a specially designed welding habitat. The 400-ton spar unit, complete with hydraulic pipe alignment devices, was used to accomplish the hyperbaric welding. OPD supports complex construction projects throughout the world. OPI LAYS DEEPWATER PIPELINE IN GULF OF MEXICO FOR TEXACO Houston, 6 February 1992.--Construction of a 15-mile, 12-inch diameter pipeline, from Garden Banks 149-189, in water depths ranging from 67//to 72/t ft, has been completed for Texaco E&P by OPI International Inc., operating company for Offshore Pipelines Inc. (OPt) [NYSE:OFP]. OPI laid the deepwater pipeline using the lay barge LB 289 fitted with a special b designed four-section stinger. The work included successfully pulling a 10-inch diameter pipe through a 14-inch diameter J-tube at the riser. Assisting with the J-tube pull was a four-person saturation diving team and equipment supplied by Offshore Petroleum Divers Inc.. (OPD/, a wholly owned subsidiary of OPI International Inc.
