NEW PRODUCTS Oxford Advanced Surfaces unveils its new technology Oxford Advanced Surfaces Group Plc has formulated a solventresistant oleo-phobic and hydrophobic coating with its proprietary technology. The technology, which is called Onto XL Highly Reactive Chemistry, has been utilized to change the wetting and surface energy properties of glass and plastic substrates. Wet chemical processing techniques are used to apply the coating in two layers from non-fluorinated solvents. The use of Onto XL technology with fluoro-polymers helps form an oleo-phobic/hydrophobic surface that is stable when exposed to solvents. The company is expecting its proprietary technologies, which include the Onto highly reactive chemistry and VISARC anti-reflective coatings, to be utilized in several applications. Targeted applications for the proprietary technologies include surface treatment, adhesion strength and formulation of anti-reflective coatings as well MAY 2012
