Accurate measurement of microbiological activity in industrial and cooling waters, metalworking fluids, and process systems is possible within seconds of sampling for improved treatment effectiveness, system cleanliness, and equipment performance. Antimicrobial treatments can be started quickly, instead of running days behind actual conditions while microorganisms continue to multiply. BetzDearborn's Bioscan2 monitoring system eliminates the incubation period required by traditional culture-based methods by measuring the light produced when enzyme reagents react with microbial ATP, a substance found in living cells. Immediate on-site results are available that indicate the total microbial populations of aerobic and anaerobic bacteria, molds, yeasts, algae, and protozoa.
