Entegris acquires microelectronics filtration product lines from W L Gore
E
ntegris Inc has bought W L Gore & Associates’ water and chemical filtration product lines for microelectronics applications in a deal valued at around US$20 million. The asset purchase, which includes ultrapure water, microelectronics process and bulk high purity chemical filters, expands Entegris’s portfolio of filtration solutions for semiconductor, OLED and flat panel display applications. Todd Edlund, chief operating officer of Entegris, said: “The acquisition of these products complements our portfolio of advanced liquid filtration solutions. It also reflects our strategy to grow our served markets through the deployment of capital for strategic accretive acquisitions that augment our internal development initiatives.” According to Gore, the sale is a further evolution of its filtration business strategy aligning its core competencies with the dynamic markets in which the company operates. “We have developed a seamless transition of the three product lines in close cooperation with Entegris,” said Matt Rosa, business leader
for the Gore Filtration Business Group. “Our commitment to our customers is to focus on our strengths in filtration media development and production for semiconductor and microelectronics processing applications to serve the growing needs of our customers and markets.” Gore will continue to sell filtration media for semiconductor, microelectronics processing, pharmaceutical, bioprocessing, and food and beverage applications. The Gore portfolio of filters for industrial processes, bag houses, disk drives, gas turbines, outdoor cabinets, pharmaceutical and life sciences applications is unaffected by the sale.
