Two Nashville high school graduates received an added incentive to study pharmacy when Robert L. Johnston (left), president of the Greater Nashville Drug Club, presented a $250 scholarship to Charles Toney on behalf of the association. At the same time, John Taylor (right), of Lester's Pharmacy of Nashville presented the Vernon Lester Scholarship to John Dickens. This grant for a total of $500 was given by the Lester family and the Greater Nashville Drug Club grant was raised during the future pharmacist banquet this spring.
eSidney Edward Wright, professor of pharmaceutical chemistry and administrator of pharmacy course at University of Sidney, New South Wales, Australia, died October 6. Wright had visited and studied pharmaceutical education in a number of colleges of pharmacy

Research can be in areas of pharmacy, biology, chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology, pharmacology, quality control, parenteral manufacturing, engineering and other related disciplines. The research award consists of a $1,000 stipend and engraved plaque for the winning student and his university.
