Peer Review Report

Peer review report 1 on “Liposomal bupivacaine versus interscalene nerve block for pain control after total shoulder arthroplasty: A systematic review and meta-analysis”

1. Original submission 1.1. Recommendation Minor Revision.

1.2. Comments to the author The authors did a meta-analysis on comparison of liposomal bupivacaine infiltration versus interscalene nerve block for pain control in total shoulder arthroplasty. The topic is of potential clinical interest to conduct a meta-analysis. The authors' report is of value of publication. However, a number of points should be outlined prior to publication:

DOI of published article: http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.ijsu.2017.08.569. http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.ijsu.2017.08.571 1743-9191

1. The manuscript requires thorough English language editing prior to publication. Many grammatical errors are present throughout the article. 2. A number of misprints are also present. For example, the Medline search has been written from the year 196? in abstract. Methods section in abstract is also vague and does not have verb: Reported surgical outcomes … 3. The analgesic drug which has been used to intercostal nerve block (INB) in four trials are: bupivacaine þ epinephrine (William 2016) and ropivacaine (Namdari 2017, Okoroha 2017, Abildgaard 2017). This heterogeneity has not been discussed in limitations.
