Peer review report 2 on “Carcinosarcoma of the Maxillary Sinus: A rare case report” 1. Original Submission 1.1. Recommendation Minor Revision 1.2. Comments to the author This article is a case report describing a case of carcinosarcoma affecting the maxillary sinus. This is overall an interesting case of a rare condition. This is valuable to the existing literature as due to the paucity of these cases, management options are often unclear and lack a strong scientific foundation. The CARE reporting guidelines have been used, but incorrectly. Several of the criteria have not been satisfied fully as mentioned below. The case is overall well-described. died. It is important to know what happened during this time period. How was the patient followed up? What further investigations were used? Was there discussion of further treatment? Was the deterioration gradual or sudden? How much is it believed that this condition contributed to the overall death, given the significant co-morbidities? The discussion highlights the surrounding literature well, the table in particular is useful. However, the strengths and limitations of this study should be mentioned. Further discussion should also be given to the importance of this article to the scientific literature and any future work required. There are a number of grammatical and syntax errors throughout this article. A professional copy-editor is strongly advised to correct these mistakes before final publication.
