were 2 patients with preoperative laryngeal nerve-palsy, as noted in Table 2. I am surprised these patients are considered for this study or for thyroid lobectomy. In the introduction, the authors refer to ATA guidelines 2009. It would be important that they change this to 2015 guidelines.

This is an interesting manuscript of a small number of patients undergoing lobectomy versus total thyroidectomy, over a period of 14 years. The authors have used Propensity Score Matching. By reading the manuscript, this core matching remains quite unclear. It would be important for the author to expand on this score matching system. The numbers of matched patients is quite small and I am not sure any strong conclusions can be made based on a small number of matched patients (33 in each group). In each group there
