In the article “Position of the American Dietetic Association: Use of Nutritive and Nonnutritive Sweeteners” that appeared in the February 2004 issue of the Journal, pp 255-275, the word “fructose” in the second paragraph in the Obesity section on page 267 should have been “HFCS.” The sentence should have read, “This area deserves attention in that there has been a dramatic increase in HFCS consumption since 1970.” This position will be corrected in the Web site copy at www.eatright.org/Public/Other/index_adap0598.cfm. In the Research and Professional Brief “Effect of a Promotional Campaign on Heart-Healthy Menu Choices in Community Restaurants” that appeared in the March 2004 issue of the Journal, pp 429-432, two acknowledgements were mistakenly omitted. The authors of this article would like to acknowledge Sara Leonhardt, MPH, and Gabrielle Maly, MPH, for their instrumental help in carrying out the study and entering the initial data.
