DisplaLjs neLus from mechanical, magnetic, inductive or photoelectric inputs and transient protection is built in so the unit can cope with most industrial environments. A heavy duty relay will directly operate many control devices and counters may be fitted with pre divide decades to enable them to display in units of up to tens of thousands. Multiple counters may be operated in series if required.

Computer display review A detailed view of major display systems both alphanumeric and graphic, updated every four months is provided by the Computer Display Review. Market analyses show product introduction patterns, th e number of companies introducing models, and the average unit cost since 1971. Products are also listed by manufacturer. Other reviews published in this series include the computer terminal review, and the computer peripheral review. Single decadecounter

Single decade counter For use in machine control and indication functions, suitable for direct replacement of electromechanical devices, the single decade counters from Control Ability are designed to be individually mounted with a transducer amplifier self contained. The batch counter contains a heavy duty relay which operates when the number set on the switch is achieved by the display. It requires a power Supply and count input device to be fully operational. A large bright led display is visible form up to 20m. The transducer amplifier can accept signals

Photomultiplier catalogue A 38 page catalogue featuring its range of photomultiplier tubes is available free of charge from EMI. A full colour radiant energy spectral coverage chart is included together with an 11 page reference section. The reference section deals with )hotomultiplier operation and application, and has been written to help the photomultiplier ~user to select the most suitable tube for a particular application and then to obtain from it optimum performance.

High speed graphics Announcement of a new high resolution raster scan colour graphics display system, with vector writing speed in excess of 16K vectors per second comes'from Ramtek Corp. The Ramtek RM-9400 display generator, available in six resolutions, is expected to be widely used for multi~spectra imaging as well as command and control, mapping, process control and many other types of research programme graphics. A new feature of the system, previously unavailable, includes each processing element able to perform specific functions; for examplel co-ordinated transformation is performed by the display processor while vectors are drawn by the memory control processor. This allows simultaneous set up of the next vector to occur as the last vector is 5eing drawn into refresh memory. By overlapping these functions, vector throughput is increased. A decluttering feature is provided and the possibility of picture magnification (in the x and y directions independently) with animated displays and film loops. Refresh memory can be written in any direction. The system is designed to drive Ramtek's recently introduced 19" CRT 1000-line monitor, which feature the highest density currently available in that size CRT.
