The new expanded company, financed through CIBC World Markets Corporation., includes four divisions: MPP, Ross Aluminium, Revere Aluminium, and several operating facilities of Titan Plastics Group. A Elliot Archer, president and CEO of MPP since 1998, has been named president and CEO of Revere Industries, which is owned by Charter

companies into a single entity provides our expanded company, our customers, our employees, and our suppliers with significant opportunities for growth and added value," Mr Archer says. "Our combined purchasing power, technical expertise, and worldwide manufacturing base, including India and China, will allow us to expand our product offerings to customers. "Similarly, our employees should benefit from the advantages that our significantly expanded workforce will give us in the negotiation
of employee benefits frommour providers. Our suppliers and other strategic partners will have additional opportunities to provide their products and services to the units of the expanded company, which will employ almost 2000 people and will operate manufacturing facilities around the world. “ This organisational move provides an unparalleled opportunity for all of Revere’s stakeholders to benefit from the synergies and increased energy level of the combined companies.”

THE Metal Powder Industries Federation has begun the New Year with the publication of a new standard to add to its already formidable armoury. The new yardstick Standard #54, Method for Determination of Density of Impermeable Powder Metallurgy (PM) Materials - is only one of 35 standards included in the 2006 edition of the MPIF Standard Test Methods for Metal Powders and Powder Metallurgy Products. More than 50 per cent of the methods in the new edition have been revised from the 2003 edition it replaces. Quality Assurance programmes require that the latest standards are used in the manufacture of metal powder
and powder metallurgy products. The publication contains standards covering terminology and recommended methods of test for metal powders, powder metallurgy and injection moulded parts, metallic filters and powder metallurgy equipment. In addition, the publication includes sources for specialised testing equipment referenced by the standards. MPIF standards are intended to present and clarify PM technology as an aid in conducting business. The Standard Test Methods relates to those activities that concern designers, manufacturers, and users of PM parts. For more information about new publications and pricing go to www.mpif.org
