Spreadsheet aids process chemistry simulation SOFTWARE that can handle chemical and thermodynamic calculations in Excel has been released by a joint venture between GTT Technologies (Germany) and VTT Chemical Technology (Finland). The companies say ChemSheet@ is suitable for application in the metallurgical, chemical and process industries as well as in universities and education. ChemSheet uses complex numerical procedures with extensive thermodynamic data linked with

appropriate reaction kinetics but produces the results in a simple Excel spreadsheet, thus making the simulation accessible to the general user. Applications range from analysis of laboratory data to practical process simulation and design. One potential application highlighted by the manufacturers is the phase mapping of metals, alloys and ceramics for annealing and sintering. GTT Technologies; tel: +49-2407-59533; fax: +492407-59661.
