Flemihg moves to ochrane Dr Hubert Fleming has been appointed President of Cochrane. Dr Fleming comes to Cochrane from Zenon USA. Hu is well known in the water and filtration industries and has authored more than one hundred technical arttiles, holds sixteen patents and has authored or coauthored for books, Hu is active in the environemntal community, and was past President of the Environmental Business Association and the North American Membrane Society. The Institute of Environmental Sciences, Secretariat for ISO/TC 209, is pleased to announce the availability of ISO/DIS 14644-l) Cleanrooms and associated cotrolled environments - Part 1: Classification of airborne particulates. This document is the first Draft International Standard (DIS) produced by IS0 Technical Committee 209, Cleanrooms and associated controlled environments. Descriptors of this DIS include cleanrooms, air pollution, particulate air pollutant and classification. Copies may be obtained through the Institute of Environmental Sciences. This first IS0 cleanroom standard is one of about 12 documents which will make up this new family of global cleanroom standards. Other documents will follow until the the full family is complete, which may be as early as the end of 1999. These other documents will cover subjects such as cleanroom testing for compliance, biocontamination, metrology and test methods, cleanroom design and construction, cleanroom operations, mini-environments and isolators and terms, definitions andunits. Nalle Plastics granted MANA membership Nalle Plastics with Martin Doolan, president and CEO, has been named to membership in the Manufacturer’s Agents National Association (MANA). MANA, headquartered in Laguna Hills, California, is the world’s largest organisation of independent manufacturers’ agencies, nearly 7000 strong, and has a size-
able associate membership of manufacturers. Founded in 1947, the association sponsors educational programmes for agents and manufacturers, stressing the practical aspects of building sales with an agency sales force. Nalle Plastics was founded in 1946 by George Nalle. The firm specialises

Dust and fume extraction equipment specialist Airmaster Engineering has won four export contracts worth in excess of El/2 million. They are to supply two Master jet and 33 reverse jet cartridge filters to exhaust dust from conveyor transfer points in a coal handling plant being built at Sual Power Station in the Philipines. Eleven master jet filters have been ordered by a german conveying specialist for use in storage silos at a Pure Terephthalic Acid (PTA) and aromatics plant to be built in Saudi Arabia. For another PTA plant, operated by ICI Pakistan at Port Qasim, Airmaster are to supply four master jets for use in product batch tanks and storage silos. Destined for a power plant under construction in Taiwan are 16 master jet filters to serve fly ash silos in an ash handling system.
