Polymer-supported Alkaloid Ammonium Quaternary Salts as Phase-transfer Catalysts Jiang Ji Long, Huang Jin Xia, Lu Jun and Chen Jia-Wei, Hubei University, Wuhan, China The synthesis of alkaloid ammonium quaternary salts immobilized either directly or by long spacer chains to polystyrene is described. Some examples of application of polymer supported phase-transfer catalysts to organic synthesis are also reported. The catalysts showed high catalytic activities in anion-promoted organic reactions.
