AccuStandard introduces new chemical reference standards Certified chemical reference standards to analyze for additives in plastics and other polymeric materials have been made available by AccuStandard in the PolyAddCheck line. The standards are for plasticizers, antioxidants, flame retardants and blowing agents amongst other categories. Most are available in solution and neat forms.
An analysis of the PolyAddCheck standards was performed to compile the recently released Handbook for the Chemical Analysis of Plastic and Polymer Additives. The book includes occurrence, toxicity and analytical methods used in the detection and monitoring of polymeric materials. Contact: AccuStandard Website: www.accustandard.com
PolyOne Corp expands South American product offering Polymer material manufacturer PolyOne Corp has extended its range of speciality compounds in Brazil and other areas of South America. Plásticos Novacor will manufacture several of PolyOne’s product lines to support the expansion. Plásticos Novocor’s plant in the Sao Paolo area will produce Stat-Tech™ electrically conductive compounds, Lubri-Tech™ lubricated and wear-resistant compounds, and EdgeTek™ engineering thermoplastic compounds. electrostatic discharge (ESD), shielding from electromagnetic and radiofrequency interference (EMI/RFI) and permanent antistatic protection. Improved wear resistance and a low coefficient of friction are offered by Lubri-Tech compounds. High operating temperatures, impact strength and flame resistance are key features of EdgeTek compounds. The compounds will be sold in Brazil and exported to Argentina and potentially other South American countries. Contact: PolyOne Corporation Website: www.polyone.com
