ave you seen the second edition of "Powder Coating-The Com• plete Finisher's Handbook," edited by Nicholas P. Liberto and published by the Powder Coating Institute? If not you might want to do so, because this edition is really excellent. I spent a few hours thumbing through this 431-page handbook and found myself getting engrossed on topics that I thought I understood only to discover that there was more to the subject than I had anticipated. The editor has covered the full gamut of subjects that relate not only to powder coatings but also to equipment, processes, and costing, and there are many pages of hard-to-find data including useful information on the health and safety of individual powders. For several years I have wanted to learn more about compressed air systems and associated equipment, and to my delight this handbook covered this topic in detail. If you are already into powder coatings this book should be on your bookshelf, but even if your company only applies liquid coatings, there are chapters that discuss topics that apply equally to powders and liquids, and you might agree that this book will be a valuable addition to your reference library.
