PHYSICIAN TRAINING GUIDELINES

*Preceptorship Training Program information will be published in the Journal as a service to members.

"Guidelines for Optimal Physician Training in Echo cardiography," a new standards document developed 2IA

by the American Society of Echocardiography, has been mailed to members of the Society. The physi cian training document developed by the Society of Pediatric Echocardiography was mailed with the ASE document. The standards document originally appeared in the July 1987 issue of the Journal oftheAmerican College

ofCardiology.

The document is the recommendation of the American Society of Echocardiography committee for physician training in echocardiography. It re places a 1982 document on physician training. Re prints may be ordered on the publications form in this issue of the Journal. The following people are serving on the committee for physician training in echocardiography: Alan S. Pearlman, MD, chairman; Julius M. Gardin, MD; Randolph P. Martin, MD; Alfred F. Parisi, MD; Richard L. Popp, MD; Miguel A. Quinones, MD; and J. Geoffrey Stevenson, MD.
