You are hereby notified that the Eighty-Eighth Annual Meeting of the American Dental Association will be held in Boston, August 4-8, 1947. The House of Delegates will convene at 10 :0 0 a.m., Monday, August 4. The second session will be held at 1:3 0 p.m., Monday, August 4 ; the third session at 1:3 0 p.m., Wednesday, August 6 ; the fourth session at 1:3 0 p.m., Thursday, August 7, and a possible fifth session at 10 :0 0 a.m., Friday, August 8. The sessions of the House of Delegates will be held in the Imperial Ballroom of the Hotel Statler. The Credentials Committee will register delegates and alternates, beginning at 10:00 a.m., Sunday, August 3, at the Hotel Statler. All other members will register at the Registration Office in the M e­ chanics’ Building. The Registration Department will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 5 :0 0 p.m., Sunday, August 3 ; from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., M on­ day, Tuesday and Wednesday, August 4-6; from 9:00 a.m. to 5 :0 0 p.m., Thursday, August 7, and from 9:00 a.m. until noon, Friday, August 8. The first General Session, which will be held at 10 :3 0 a.m., Tuesday, August 5, will also be the opening session of the Tenth International Dental Congress. The second General Session will be held Tuesday eve­ ning, August 5, at 8:00 p.m. The first and second General Sessions will be held in the Imperial Ballroom of the Hotel Statler. At least thirty days prior to the first day of the Annual Meeting, the constituent societies will file with the general secretary of this Association a list of the names and addresses of their delegates and alternates. Sterling V. Mead, president of the American Dental Association, was born October 16, 1888, at Hutchinson, Kan. He attended the public schools and the Salt City Business College in that city. He was graduated in dentistry from George Washington Uni­ versity in 1914, later obtaining his bachelor and master's degrees in science from Georgetown University. In 1929 he served as president of the District of Columbia Dental Society and, in 1932, as vice-president of the American Dental Association. For several years before assuming the office of president, he served as chairman of the Committee on Legislation if-
