At the inaugural session of the XXVth World Conference of the International Union against Tuberculosis held in Buenos Aires, December, 1982, Robert Koch Medals were presented to Professor Wallace Fox and Dr. Johannes Holm. Citations Professor Wallace Fox: in recognition of the contribution to the control of tuberculosis arising from the research carried out by him, the British Medical Research Council and other collaborating organisations in many parts of the world. Dr. Johannes Holm: in recognition of his contribution to the bacteriology of standardised tuberculin testing and epidemiological studies in the 1930’s and and the mass BCG campaign in the late 1940’s and early 1950’s, and to evolving concept of tuberculosis control and initiating a co-ordinated control strategy world through W.H.O. and I.U.A.T.

Chest Heart and .Stroke Association On 26th October 1982, at a ceremony held by The Chest, Heart and Stroke Association in London, the Sir Robert Philip Medal was presented to Professor D. A. Mitchison for his outstanding work over many years in the field of tuberculosis. Dr. Mitchison is Professor of Bacteriology at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School, London and Director of the Medical Research Council Unit for Laboratory Studies in Tuberculosis.

CORRECTION In the Letter to the Editor from Stanford and Bittles in Tuber& (1982), 63, 236, the two graphs were reproduced in the wrong order. The second graph (p. 237) should appear first as 1 .A. and the first graph (p. 236) should appear second as 1 .B.
