PRESSURE SORE AND LEG ULCER REGIONAL STUDY DAYS 1995 A second Study Day programme concerned with Leg Ulcers has been developed to run in parallel with the long established Pressure Sore meetings. The basic format remains the same for each type of Study Day with two half days of an identical programme in a morning and afternoon, each introduced by a local chairperson. The outline for each programme is as follows: PRESSURE SORES. Presentations on Cost of Pressure Sores, the need for Nurse Specialists, Aetiology, Assessment of Patients and Preventative Aids, Assessment of Wounds and Wound Dressings. LEG ULCERS. Presentations on Leg Ulcer Prevalence and Vascular Assessment. Syndicate Workshops on Use of Dopplers, Four Layer Bandaging, Bandage Pressure Monitoring. The assistance of Talley and HNE Healthcare with these workshops is gratefully acknowledged. Time is allowed in both programmes to visit the supporting exhibition by up to fifteen companies. The sessions are repeated in the afternoon. The local hospital organiser concerned need only provide coffee/tea, photocopies of handouts for the delegates and buffet lunch for the speakers and company representatives. If you wish to hold a Pressure Sore Study Day please contact Mrs J Waterlow, Newtons, Curland, Taunton, Somerset TA3 SSG Tel: 0460 23464S. Arrangements for Leg Ulcer Study Days can be made through the Secretary (0722 336262 Ext 40S7)
