Learning Objectives ●

State how frequently the nursing assistants (NAs) in this survey were assaulted by nursing home residents and note any patient- or job-related factors associated with assaults. ●

Recall how NAs rated their own ability to recognize, prevent, and manage aggressiveness. ● Characterize how NAs are trained at present in recognizing and coping with aggressive behavior by nursing home residents, and what changes might be appropriate.
