and is shrouded. the units provide low noise operation and the ability to operate in hostile environments without ventilation, high atmospheric temperatures and areas prone to flooding or generally wet environments. The low noise feature makes the units particularly suited to automatic booster set installation, in office and apartment buildings or any environment where water booster sets are required. Calpeda can supply automatic sets with single pump “Whispermat” or twin pump systems with full automatic control via the “Electromat” integrated controller. The MXSU range covers flows to 183 l/min and heads to 69 m with single or three phase motor options both 50 Sr 60 Hz. Integrated shut-off eliminates
effort
A new generation of heating pumps is being showcased by Wilo, <;ermany, whose most innovative feature is a maintenance-free shut-off device that
will be integrated as standard in future pump cases. Installing pumps between shut-off devices can be a complex and trick!, procedure, involving the need to drain off the entire system. or install shut off valves. To alleviate these burdens. integrated shut-off devices are now being supplied as standard on Wile’s new heating pump seriesTOP-V from DN 25 to DN 65. As the face-to-face dimensions of theTOP-V pumps are largely identical with those of the old pumps, the series can be easily used on existing installations. The flanged pump has shut-off valves on either side. whilst the union connected pump has a ball cock. The pumps are supplied with PN6/10 combination flange Since the pumps’ shut-off function is combined within an extremely short face-to-face dimension. a 50% space saving can be expected. It withstands pressures of up to 10 bar. and tolerates temperatures of up to 1.sO”C.
Wile’s TOP-V pump, with an integral shut-off mechansim.
The maintenance-free valves are easy to operate and standard commercial spanners suffice to set the side positioned valves. Meanwhile, clear indication of the valve position simplifies operationA special concept for integrating the valves minimises the drop in output. In this event, calculations for the pipe network do not have to include loss allowances for conventional shut-off valves. Regenerative turbine boosts efficiency levels ~~~~~
A regenerative turbine impeller design on MTH Pumps’ new Series MS0 Sr L50 line provides high efficiency and produces an even non-pulsing discharge pressure. These units have a standard vertical base mount with one to five stages for a 2 to $3 gpm capacity range, and a pressure range up to 1000 psi. Close coupled and horizontal base mount configurations are available in bronze, iron and cast 316 stainless steel constructions. The Series L50 is designed for low NPSH inlet requirements, making it ideall) suited where limited inlet head is available. Contact: MTH Pumps, 401 W Main St, Plano, IL 60545, USA. Products that won’t flow, will
go
The new RAMfeeder from RAM Equipment is designed to comfortably feed and pump products which tend to bridge due to their low moisture/high solid concentrations. Such fluids LlS mechanically dewatered sludges, pastes, filter residues and many more high viscosity products can be easily handled. The secret, according to the maker, is its unique RAMroller which prevents bridging and voids in product flow. The RAMfeeder is available in single, double and quad auger units that can reach flow rates in excess of 750 000 lb/h, while the transition can be designed for a wide variety of pumps.
