Papanicolaou and Isador Rubin in New York, and Fuller Albright in endocrinology in Boston. Returning to Mexico, Dr. Alvarez Bravo was appointed Chief of the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at the Hospital Espanol in Mexico City in 1947, a position he held for the rest of his life. In 1937, he began his teaching career as Professor of Medical Physics, teaching students preparing for a Bachelors Degree.
