Alan J. Abramowitz, 'Choices and Echoes in the 1978 US Senate Elections: A Research Note', American Journal of Political Science, 25: 1, February 1981, pp. 112 118. This article is based on the 1978 CPS National Election Study, it assesses the impact of ideology on voting in the 1978 US Senate elections with the aid of a classification of 24 States according to the clarity of ideological differences between the Senate candidates. There is a trend towards oscillation within the Israeli electorate between voting for the Labour and the Likud parties and this means that the dominance of the Labour party is over. Kendall L. This article explores effects of the campaign debates held in West Germany in 1972. While they did not have any direct effects on either candidate perceptions or issue salience, there is evidence that the debates may have had some important indirect effects on the electorate's ultimate voting choices.
