EQUIPMNe Pulstar Series has many options A BROAD range of options including choice of either a caterpillar or reciprocating puller section is available on its Pulstar Series 2 0 0 0 p u l t r u s i o n machines, says PTI, a division of Morrison Molded Fiber Glass Co, of Bristol, Virginia, USA. A feature of the Pulstar Series is a swivel mounted touch screen controller that provides continuous data display. This allows e n d l e s s m o n i t o r i n g of pulling force and all other operating parameters. The controller also has a diagnostic display for trouble shooting. Standard machines, modular-style m a c h i n e s
and totally c u s t o m i z e d m a c h i n e s are available. Standard product envelo p e sizes r a n g e f r o m 20 x 15 c m t o 102 x
41 cm. Custom machines can be designed and built for specific applications. Recently a machine with a p r o f i l e e n v e l o p e of
Custom pultrusion machines can be designed and built for specific requirements such as the large complex profiles produced on this machine with a profile envelope of 152 x 76 cm.
152 x 76 cm was built and now is in use pulling a large complex profile. PTI says that its Pulstar machines are value-engineered. A variety of options allow customers to select only the features needed for their application, such as a choice of open die beds or heated platens, a broad range of envelope size (including multi-cavity combinations), die station design options and automatic or manual cut-off saws. Airless spray-up helps pool maker's sales remain buoyant AIRLESS, i n t e r n a l - m i x spray-up e q u i p m e n t is helping Fibre-Tek Pty Ltd lead the way in Australia's growing fibreglass swimming pool market. The company, based in Molendinar, Queensland, is Australia's largest manufacturer of fibreglass reinforced swimming pools. In addition to production efficiencies, such as quality control and productivity, the greatest benefit of the processing equipment is a significant reduction in volatile organic compounds (VOCs), says the Firm. Thanks to this, it can n o w m e e t Australia's regulations regarding styrene and other VOC emissions.

This sketch illustrates the proposed six-axis robotics spraying system from Venus-Gusmer at Fibre-Tek Ply Ltd in Australia.
The equipment is supplied by US manufacturer Venus-Gusmer, based in Washington state. FibreTek uses four Venus Hy-
draulic Injection System (HIS) Chopper units, one HIS Pro Series Multicolor Gelcoater and three Pro Gun chop-and-spray guns.

According to company r e p o r t s , by using t h e equipment production time for a typical 635 kg pool has been cut in half to 45 mins. Fibre-Tek is now considering buying a six-axis robotics spray-up system from Venus-Gusmer. This incorporates both HIS and Pro Gun technology into an advanced, computercontrolled spray-up system. This should further boost the pool manufacturer's production levels while improving process controls, says Venus-Gusmer. VenusGusmer; tel: + 1 - 2 0 6 - 8 5 4 - 2 6 6 0 ; fax; + 1-206-854-1666
