Ralph G. Bengston RALPH G. BENGSTON, long prominent in orthodontics and in the activities of the American Association of Orthodontists, died on June 5, 1968 at his home in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Bengston practiced at 25 E. Washington St,reet in Chicago for some 40 years and taught for 10 years at Northwestern University Dental School. A graduate of Northwestern University Dental School in 1925 after securing his A.B. degree, he returned to his alma mater for graduate study and received an M.S. degree in orthodontics in 1930. His early experience in orthodontics was acquired in the office of the ort,hodontic pioneer, Lloyd Lowrie. Serving dentistry and orthodontics in many capacities, Dr Bengston was president of both the Chicago Society of Orthodontists and the Midwestern Society of Orthodontists. Dr. Bengston leaves to all who knew him the memory of quiet friendly dignity, and he will be remembered also for his counsel to the young men of dentistry. He is survived by his wife, Helen; a da.ughter, Mrs. Marilyn W. Elrick; and two grandsons.
