Two new monochromators have been Installed at the Wlsconsm Synchrotron Radlatlon Center and four more are being deslgncd and constructed for lnstallatlon later thls year The new Instruments Installed are an uhv version of a vertically dlsperslng Seya-Namloka monochromator and an adjustable sht version of the “Grasshopper” grazmg Incidence monochromator built at the Umverslty of Wlsconsln Physlcal Sciences Laboratory for use at the Stanford Synchrotron Radlatlon ProJectI The new Instruments to be Installed later arc a 4 m normal mcldence monochromator dcslgned around a high efficiency Bausch and Lomb grating ruled for the Sky Lab Program and three grazmg mcldence toroldal gratmg monochromators deslgned for use wnh special Jobm-Yvon holographic gratmgs The work on the toroldal gratmg monochromator IS proceeding In collaboration wnh research groups from the 1B.M Watson Laboratones and the Umverslty of Pcnnsylvama Operatmg characterlstlcs achieved or to be expected with these mstrumcnts WIII be dlscussed
