form of electronic access to the journal available to our subscribers, giving information on papers awaiting publication and forthcoming special issues. Already, the submission of manuscripts for publication may be made via electronic mail to both the US Editor and to myself via the Internet. The submission of accepted papers in electronic format has already proved to be a great success, with two-thirds of accepted papers being supplied on disk. The future of Computer Communications looks to be

an exciting one-now that it itself starts using some of the very technology that has been discussed in its pages during the past 17 years. I should like to thank the Guest Editors of all those special issues that we carried in 1994, the referees for their much appreciated efforts, and Raj Yavatkar for his contribution to the journal as US Editor. Jeremy B Thompson General Editor

Referees The publishers and Editors of Computer Communications wish to extend their grateful thanks to the following referees who provide an invaluable service by ensuring that the quality of published papers remains of the highest standard.
