Box 699, Atascadero, California 93422 (Super 8 mm with sound, color, includes sound cassette with relaxation instruction on opposite side for use in desensitization and with projector without sound capabilities.) _ Length of film 83 min. Purchase Price $135.00. Rental fee: $35.00 for 3 weeks. This film is the first in a series planned for use “as an adjunct to treatment of sexual dysfunction, where behavior may be reinforced at home employing a minimum of expensive equipment”. The film shows a young woman in masturbation. She is shown caressing various parts of her body and focusing on clitoral stimulation with increasing arousal to orgasm. The atmosphere created is one of relaxation and focusing of attention on body sensations. The accompanying sound, with guitar music in the back-
ground, is a relaxed unhurried woman’s voice repeating phrases such as, “relax, let your self go”, “let yourself feel good”, “explore your body”, “concentrate on the feeling”. It seems that the film would be quite useful in aiding a woman in becoming more comfortable with her own body and sexuality in general. We have noted in the many cases of frigidity treated at the Temple Behavior Therapy Unit, that facilitating masturbatory arousal and orgasm is often the needed first step in attainment of heterosexual satisfaction. Therefore the choice of this subject matter as a first film in the series fits in with clinical needs. In addition to its valuable content, the tim is very well done technically and avoids the garishness which detracts from the esthetic impact of most such films.
