THE Eighteenth Annual Meeting of the Neurobehavioral Teratology Society was held in Las Croabas, Puerto Rico, on June 24-27, 1994. As in the past, our meeting was held in conjunction with the Annual Meeting of the Teratology Society. Highlights of the Neurobehavioral Teratology Society meeting were symposia presented on the topics of AgeDependent Susceptibility of Methamphetamine: Neurobehavioral, Neurochemical, and Morphological Correlations, organized by Ali F. Syed, NCTR/FDA, Jefferson, AR and Perinatal Influences on the Development of the NeuralImmune Interaction, organized by Sonya K. Sobrian, Department of Pharmacology, Howard University College of Medicine, Washington, DC. A third symposium was held jointly with the Behavioral Toxicology Society: Persisting Effects of Developmental Exposure to Toxicants, organized by Susan L. Schantz, University of Illinois, Urbana, IL and Ed Levin, Department of Psychiatry, Duke University Medical Center, Durham, NC. A fourth symposium was held jointly with the Teratology Society: Endocrine Endpoints in Teratology, organized by Diana Dow-Edwards, Laboratory of Cerebral Metabolism, Department of Pharmacology, State University of New York, Brooklyn, NY. Further scientific presentations were given in two platform sessions and a poster session. These presentations covered a broad range of research areas of current interest in the field of neurobehavioral teratology. The New Investigator Award was given to Charles J. Heyser, Department of Neuropharmacology, Scripps Research Institute, La Jolla, CA. Travel Awards were presented to Crystal D. Munkers, University of Washington, Seattle, WA; Tracy M. Reed, Children’s Hospital Research Foundation and University of Cincinatti, Cincinatti, OH; Lauren P. Shearman, University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership for the Neurobehavioral Teratology Society is for the calendar year and includes a subscription to Neurotoxicology and Teratology, which the Society co-sponsors with the Behavioral Toxicology Society. Regular membership for 1995 is $65.00. Associate membership is available to grad students at a reduced rate. Next year’s meeting will be held from Sunday, June 25 through Tuesday, June 27, 1995, at the Marriott Hotel in Newport Beach, CA.
