ttON LIBRARIAN.

SESSION 1912-13 . To the Coutzcil of the Society oJ Medical @ricers of Health. GENTLeMRN,--I have the pleasure of reporting that your library has been greatly increased during the past session. Thanks to the generosity of Mr. J. Reynolds Sykes, practically the whole of the library of his father, the late Dr. J. F. J. Sykes, has been presented to the Society, together with two valuable bookcases. The collection, consisting of 379 volumes and 68 cases of papers collated under various headings dealing with public health, is being added to the library catalogue. I also have the pleasure of recording the acceptance of the kind offer of Dr. J. Ashburton Thompson, chief medical officer to the Government of New South Wales, to donate to the Society a complete bound set of the Local Government Board Reports. And the thanks of the Society are also due to Dr. Shrubsall for a number of copies of the transactions of the Royal Society of Medicine. During the past session there have been received 274 copies of reports from members of the Society and Government Departments, and 30 volumes have been contributed through the medium of PUBLIC HEALTH. One small bookcase has been purchased during the session, and arrangements are being made to bind up a number of the paper-cover editions. I am, G e n t l e m e n , Yours faithfully, WM. B U T L E R , Hon. Librarian.
