enhances barrier fluid systems
Fluid reservior systems developed by Flex-A-Seal are designed to enhance the sealing environment of centrifugal pumps in toxic, harsh and critical process applications. The new systems are connected to a dual seal to form a barrier between the process fluids and the environment. Depending on the specific application, complex packages range from a single reservoir to a complete system. Three base packages are offered: BF I - a basic tank system designed primarily as a simple lubrication system for use when the transfer fluid is a poor lubricant. BF II - a more complex system designed for use with ANSI pump systems. Additional features include 316 stainless steel sight gauge, vent and drain valve, plus pressure gauge and a block and bleed valve. BF III - this is designed for the most demanding API specifications. Features include a larger tank, cooling coils, and high-pressure rated piping and fittings, in addition to enhanced control elements. If a seal should fail, pressure on the reservoir forces the liquid into the process fluid or into the reservoir, not into the environment. A liquid-level switch notifies of the failure and shuts down the processing equipment to protect the environment.

Dosing with hydraulic diaphragms Milton Roy has introduced a cheaper option to its MRoy range of hydraulically actuated diaphragm dosing pumps by eliminating a flexible coupling from the design. The new XA is a more compact and lower priced directmounted alternative to the other pumps in the MRoy range. The pump is designed for general industrial dosing applications and has a maximum capacity of 66 l/hr with pressures to 123 bar. Maximum temperature for pumped fluids is 90 or 50 °C, depending on whether metal or plastic liquid ends are fitted.
