Abstract

A new cluster is described, WC15, comprised an antigen an antigen expressed on erythrocytes

of five monoclonal

antibodies

which recognise

1. Introduction Four monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) belong to this cluster: IL-Al37 (3W-2481, ANA8 (3W-3621, IL-Al35 (3W-405) and IL-Al38 (3W-448). Inhibition of binding studies with these mAbs and another, IL-A160, not included in the workshop indicated that all five recognised the same antigen (Naessens et al., 1996; Naessens, J., Nthale, J.M. and Muiya, P., 1996. Biochemical analysis of preliminary clusters in the non-lineage panel. Vet. Immunol. Immunopathol., 52: . . ._. . . 1.

2. Immunochemistry No data were generated

within the workshop.

3. Cellular expression These monoclonal

antibodies

bind specifically

to erythrocytes

from Bos tuurus and

Bos indicus.

4. Function

and human homologue

No biological

function

or human homologue

has been identified.
