eolia Water Technologies and Krüger A/S are to rehabilitate and expand Kafubu Water and Sewerage Co’s (KWSC) water and wastewater infrastructures in northern Zambia’s Copperbelt mining region. The US$101.6 million contract is designed to improve the water and wastewater services in Ndola, Luanshya and Masaiti urban areas and strengthen KWSC’s capacity to operate the facilities in an efficient and sustainable way. The rehabilitation program comprises approximately 147 km of distribution networks for drinking water, as well as 21 groundwater wells, six raw water intake installations for surface water, six waterworks and 18 pumping stations. Nine wastewater treatment plants will be renovated and approximately 30 km of sewer networks will be upgraded. The 30 month project is expected to be completed by September 2017. The project is being funded by a loan granted by the Danish Government’s international development agency Danida Business Finance.

Dow and DuPont shareholders will each own approximately 50% of the combined company. The merger transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2016. The spin-offs would take place about 18–24 months after the merger closes. The Agriculture company will bring together DuPont’s and Dow’s seed and crop protection businesses. The Material Science company will include DuPont’s Performance Materials segment, as well as Dow’s Performance Plastics, Performance Materials and Chemicals, Infrastructure Solutions, and Consumer Solutions (excluding the Dow Electronic Materials business) operating segments. The Specialty Products company will unite DuPont’s Nutrition & Health, Industrial Biosciences, Safety & Protection and Electronics & Communications, as well as the Dow Electronic Materials business.
Jacobs awarded EPCM contract for Indian paint plant

Under the 37-month contract, Jacobs will provide detailed engineering and construction supervision services for the plant.
