erhighway Macromolecular images The Image Library of Biological Macromolecules (http://www.imb-jena.de/IMAGE.html) I is a collection of 3-D molecular images ranging from amino acids to Z-DNA. The collection is being compiled by J0rgen SEihnel at the Institute of Molecular Biotechnology in Germany. Many of the images are generated from coordinate files available from the Brookhaven National Laboratory protein databank and the nucleic acid databank at Rutgers University.

The National Cancer Institute provides information through a gopher server that can accessed either from within the Web (gopher://gopher.nih.gov:70/11/clin/cancernet/facts), or with a traditional gopher client such as TurboGopher on the Mac ~. Information on cancer is extensive and updated frequently• It includes current clinical trials, risk factors and data sheets on a ~'~elllil wide variety of tumours. ---,

Neurosciences on the Internet A comprehensive neuroscience page is maintained by Nell Busis, both in the USA (http://www.lm.conl/-nab), and a mirror site in the UK (http://flybrain.gla.ac.uk/neil/index.html). Access is therefore fairly fast after lunch in the UK, when most people find that crossing the Atlantic makes the Web unusable.

Medical multimedia Catalogues of medical teaching resources appear to be run by a handful of enthusiasts. Two who deserve special mention are Jonathan Tward, an MD/PhD student at Tufts University, who runs the Multimedia Medical Reference Library (http://www.tiac.net:80/users/jtward/index.html), and Jim Martindale who keeps his own Health Sciences Guide (http://wwwsci.lib.uci.edu/-martindale/HSGuide.html).
