ScienceDirect Articles in Press ScienceDirect users of Language Sciences now have the chance to access top scientific research more quickly than ever before. Elsevier’s Articles in Press service makes peer-reviewed papers available online that have been accepted for publication, but have not yet been corrected at proof stage or published in the printed journal. Authors will benefit from greater visibility to the over 4500 institutes worldwide who have access to the ScienceDirect platforms, and a speedier online publication process. Papers will be posted online on an average of 15 days post-acceptance. The papers will be accessible only through ScienceDirect. Articles in Press takes full advantage of the enhanced ScienceDirect functionality, including the ability to be cited. This is possible due to the innovative use of the DOI article identifier, which enables the citation of a paper before volume and issue numbers are allocated. The article in press will automatically be replaced online as soon as the final version of the article in the printed journal has been published.
