LAPAROSCOPY AND STAPLING TECHNIQUES IN UROLOGY RADICAL PERINEAL PROSTATECTOMY FRIDAY, SATURDAY, AND SUNDAY JULY 23, 24 & 25, 1993 The

first phase of this training seminar is designed to introduce the clinical urologist to the technique of operative laparoscopy, and re-introduce radical perineal prostatectomy as another modality in the treatment of prostate cancer. Didactic lectures, video presentations, live case demonstrations, and hands-on animate and inanimate laboratory sessions will be used to facilitate the learning process. The clinical and technical aspects of renal surgery, retroperitoneal lymph node dissection and varicocelectomy will be emphasized. The second phase of the seminar is designed to help the clinical urologist achieve proficiency in the use of internal staplers in urological procedures, specifically enteroenterostomy, continent urinary diversion and enterocystoplasty.
