SYSTEM DESCRIPTION - SOFTWARE

Alper Rcds is used for: Automatic draughting and scheduling of reinforced concrete structures in accordance with BS 4466 : 1981 The program handles all commonly occurring structures as well as unique, one-off constructions, such as bridges and water retaining structures. All the bar dimensions are computed automatically. Mark numbers are automatically incremented or manually specified with warnings to ensure that the same number is not used twice. Bends and hooks a r e automatically allowed for to correspond with the shape code and other parameters selected. Numbers of bars and centres are calculated automatically, and the layout of bars includes facilities for automatic labelling and sequence control. Schedules are produced automatically in accordance with BS 4466. A schedule of weights is also produced which summarises lengths and weights for each steel type and diameter. SYSTEM DESCRIPTION - SOFTWARE Alper Records is a computer system for managing mains records and other map-based information. Maps may be input by automic scanning techniques or using traditional OS digital maps. All the maps for a region, whatever its extent, are held contiguously in the database. It contains no boundaries or edges of map sheets f o r the user to worry about. Lines and symbols representing mains, equipment are drawn on background maps on the screen. Non-graphical attributes are readily added with the aid of simple prompts. The system in written in Fortran, C and Micro code.

The standalone Sigma III workstation incorporates a standalone Motorola M68010 microprocessor end the UNIX operating system, including the following hardware features: One megabyte RAM, with virtual memory access, 84 Mbyte hard disc, 20 Mbyte ¼ in streamer tape for back-up, medium- or high-resolution 256-colour graphics monitor, ergonomic keyboard, joystick, push-button menu and Ethernet. Upgrades are available to add an additional 84 or 168 Mbyte disc or up to 4 Mbytes of additional RAM.

SYSTEM D E S C R I P T I O N - SOFTWARE Sigma I I I's graphics software is written in C. All applications are written in SIGMAC. SIGMAC is Sigma Design's macro language. SIGMAC can be used to enhance any of the applications below, or create new ones. Sigma Design's basic software package and push-button architectural menus include: • Site plan • Floor plan • Elevations and sections • Plumbing • Electrical applications Additional applications packages are available for: • Space planning/facilities management • HVAC design and drafting • Structural design and analysis • Coordinate geometry • Structural drafting • Advanced 3D modelling SIRGEN, Sigma's relational database management system, allows users to generate bar, line or pie charts, and to format and produce customized reports end merge graphical data with textual information.
