Unix rejected, security found wanting A survey carried out by the European Security Forum highlights that current limitations in security are a serious problem which may result in users placing restrictions on the future use of Unix. The report, Business Requiremenfs for Upgrading Unix Security, revealed that 73% of those surveyed see security branding as very important. The report quoted X/Open’s security branding process as key to the future of Unix security. The report practical provides a mechanism for encouraging suppliers to upgrade their Unix offering, highlighting the 15 key business requirements of security. Top of this list were:
