Contamin. Toxicol., 26(5):613-620. The method yielded better separation and higher sensitivities of PAH's in samples of sediment, oyster and wakame seaweed (Osaka, Japan) than did GLC, GC-MS or TLC-fluorescence techniques. PAH concentrations and distributions are discussed and related to the level of petroleum contamination. Technol., 15(6):715-716. Solubilities of toluene, acenaphthene, and pyrene were determined at 25°C in seawater and distilled water. Magnitude of the 'salting-out' effect and the effect of temperature on solubility were directly related to hydrocarbon molar volume. Results of toxicological studies using aqueous solutions of aromatic hydrocarbons could be artificially affected

Oceanogr., 26(3):492-499. Surface film formation and breakup rates are measured, as are activation energy and time to equilibrium. Results indicate that a nearly always present organic film on the ocean surface affects both the mechanism and rate of transport of substances across this boundary. Pravdic: Center for Mar.
