Seiecfed Pupers on DesaIination attd Ocean Techoiogy,
LEVWE,Dover Publications, Inc., NY.,
This paperbound hook ISa coilection of 24 papers on desalination intended to “provide a background reading in desalination and related aspects of chemical oceanography”. Eighteen papers are given under the heading “General Technology and Economics”, four in the section of “Electrodialysis” while the part of “Other Techniques” consists of two papers only - one on reverse osmosis and one on freezing. Since it is virtually impossible to present a balanced treatment of desalination under one cover by a collection of papers, significant omissions are unavoidable, The printing qwlity of the book is excellent and its very reasonabte cost makes it a worthwhile acquisition in spite of its fimitations. VoIume 5, (1968), pp. 293-329 in the paper “A hydrodynamic theory of desaLination by electrodialysis” by A. A. Sonin and R. F. Probstein a number of errors occur owing to the fact that, to our regret, corrections to :the galley proofs were overlooked. These corrections are listed below. Page
