This new section which is divided into two parts (Primary Agency Publications and Reference Materials), will aid librarians and researchers in the identification and acquisition of government publications at all levels by providing a selected annotated listing of high interest documents and by including order information. The section will comprise columns covering the publications of: U.S. Government (Depository Items), Technical Reports and Other Non-GPO Documents, State Government, Municipal Government, Great Britain, Canada, U.N. and other International Organizations, and Western Europe and Other Countries. The section also covers book reviews, theses and dissertations, and machine readable data files. Columns will appear usually quarterly depending on the amount of new publications and reader reception. Readers are encouraged to submit citations and brief abstracts (not to exceed 100-150 words) to the appropriate column editor. Citations will identify the names of contributors. Comments are also solicited regarding the form and content of this section.
