BP renews AMEC Forties Pipeline System contract

MEC has secured a two-year integrated services contract renewal from BP to provide operations, maintenance and project support to the Forties Pipeline System in the North Sea. Under the contract, AMEC will take on increased responsibility to run, maintain and improve the year-round, 24-hour operation of the Unity offshore platform and four onshore pumping stations which form a major part of the Forties Pipeline System. The £10 million–£15 million per year AMEC contract is scheduled to run through to December 2014. AMEC has been supporting the Forties Pipeline System for the past 16 years. The Forties Pipeline System has a carrying capacity of more than 750 000 barrels per day and carries around 40% of the UK’s oil production.
Technip wins Congolese EPSCI contract
T
otal E&P Congo has awarded Technip a major lump-sum contract covering engineering, procurement, supply, construction, installation (EPSCI) and pre-commissioning for the Moho Nord development project, located approximately 75 km off the Congo coast. The project consists of two developments: the Moho Phase 1bis and Moho Nord, with first oils expected in 2015 and 2016 respectively. The Moho Nord development, which will be tied back to a new floating production unit (FPU) and a newbuild tension-leg platform (TLP), includes an oil export line to the Djeno onshore terminal and will also be tied back to the shallow-water N’Kossa platform for gas exchange. The Moho Phase 1bis development consists of tie-backs to the existing deepwater Alima FPU. The Technip contract covers the project management, engineering, supply, fabrication and installation of 230 km of
rigid pipelines, 23 km of flexible pipes, 50 km of umbilicals, 50 subsea structures as well as a number of other structures and rigid jumpers. It also includes the installation of client-supplied manifolds and pumps, control system components and multiphase jumpers.
Shell picks Jacobs Engineering for Hong Kong oil project

hell Hong Kong Ltd has selected Jacobs Engineering Group Inc to provide detailed design for its transformer oil project located at the company’s Tsing Yi installation in Hong Kong. Jacobs will provide detailed design engineering services for modifications to Shell’s existing terminal facility to enable the processing of transformer oil. Shell’s 47-acre Tsing Yi installation currently supplies Hong Kong and Macau with a wide range of oil, gas and chemical products. The work is being performed from Jacobs’ China operations in Hong Kong and Shanghai.
ProSep to deliver produced water treatment solution to Gulf of Mexico FPSO

anada’s ProSep Inc is to supply a C$1.3 million produced water treatment system for installation on a floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel that will operate in a deepwater field in the Gulf of Mexico. The ProSep solution consists of an induced gas flotation unit (IGFU) which recovers oil and reconditions produced water for overboard discharge or re-injection. ProSep’s IGFU design delivers high efficiency removal of oil and solids with a separation efficiency of up to 98%, allowing the customer to meet stringent Gulf of Mexico specifications. The equipment is expected to be delivered during the first half of 2014.
