Grundfos buys Alldos The Grundfos Group has completed the purchase of the German dosing pump group Alldos. The whole area of dosing is one where the market requirements for precise delivery coupled with simple operation are becoming increasingly key factors. Although Grundfos has only been involved in the dosing arena for four years, they have have introduced the Digital Dosing concept worldwide. Alldos, with an annual turnover of E40 million and a 36-year history in developing and manufacturing dosing pumps will enable Grundfos to further develop and grow within this sector by offering a wider product range that include hydraulic diaphragm pumps, TrueDos M self calibrating digital dosing pumps and disinfection technology and will provide Grundfos with a broader application knowledge.

Apart from the dosing pumps and systems, Alldos develop and manufacture sensors and control systems for measuring water quality. This offers Grundfos exciting potential for future development. While Alldos' facilities in Germany will become the centre of excellence for both companies dosing research and development, both companies will continue to operate autonomously in the UK. Also, from 1 January 2005, Grundfos took over the Italian submersible motor manufacturer Tesla srl. The company will continue to be managed by the present owners, Mr Franco Nassuato and Mr Paolo Petrucci. Grundfos group president and CEO Jens Jørgen Madsen, Grundfos, said, "Grundfos has produced submersible motors for many years. With the acquisition of Tesla we will expand our global market share within submersible motors considerably. Today, the American company Franklin Electric has a very dominant position in the market."

ABS sees water technology as core business ABS has highlighted wastewater technology as its core business by introducing a new, targeted organisation based on knowhow and application expertise. Building on its background in wastewater pumps and mixers, ABS is now including expertise in aeration technology, compressors and control & monitoring.
"From now on we will present our complete offer under the common brand ABS, and approach the market as one organisation" says ABS President Peter Aru. "Additionally, the new regional world-wide sales organisation set up last year has given positive effects in getting even closer to the market, combining

Side blower business for Rietschle Rietschle Thomas will incorporate the Ruey Chaang side channel blower range into its UK product portfolio. This follows the
acquisition of certain assets of Ruey Chaang Electric Company by Thomas Industries, as reported in World Pumps January. Taipei,
Taiwan, the Ruey Chaang side channel blower business had sales of approximately $9,000,000 in 2004.
