In the manufacture of the title ethers from MeOH and CM isoolefins, formation of Me20 is significantly lowered by adsorbing MezO and unreacted MeOH from the reactor effluent on beds of silica gel and zeolite 13X, desorbing MezO from the zeolite and MeOH from the silica, and recycling them to the reactor in feed concentrations of 2 5 ppm MezO and L 50 ppm unreacted MeOH, shifting the equilibrium of MeOH dehydration.

SOz is removed from flue gases from HzSOb-manufacturing plants or coal-fired power plants, etc., by passing the gas through 2 2 pressure-swing adsorption towers in which the SOz-containing feed gas is contacted with a high silica-containing porous adsorbent (e.g., ZSM-5 zeolite) to adsorb SOz. The spent adsorbent is then regenerated by desorption under reduced pressure; the desorbed SOz can be concentrated and recovered as a byproduct.

In substantially nonaqueous liquid cleaning compositions containing dispersed particles of aluminosilicates builder, components sensitive to aluminosilicate-catalysed decomposition (especially a bleach system comprising an inorganic per salt and a bleach precursor) are protected by deactivating the surfaces of the aluminosilicate particles with an acid.

The title process comprises contacting the gas with an effective amount of zeolite A containing 0.001-15 wt.% elemental Ag or Au, and regenerating at elevated temperatures for the simultaneous removal of water and Hg. This method prevents corrosion of Al heat exchangers by wet natural gas.
