Slip type pipe joint Applicant: JTL Australia Pty Ltd, Australia A pipe joining or repair method is described for use with low cost irrigation piping. An insert is used in the end of each of the pipes to be joined. The insert has barbs to resist pullout and a sealing head with a pair of O-rings on the outside diameter. A joining collar is slipped over the O-rings of each pipe to make the join and is located by collets clamped by a nut to the respective pipes. A specific benefit is that the joining sleeve is effective over a wide range of axial positions. Patent number: WO 2007/045033 Inventor: G.M. Phillipps Publication date: 26 April 2007

Tank piston seal and stabilizing system Applicant/Inventor: M.F. Birsner (USA) This patent is concerned with the system for emptying bulk road tankers that are used to carry viscous products such as chocolate or peanut butter. Discharge is achieved by pressurizing a piston in the tank which forces the product out of the discharge valve on the rear of the trailer. The seal includes a freefloating block inside the seal and grooves in the inner lower part of the hollow seal. The

block and grooves keep the upper, outer part of the seal from deforming away from the inner surface of the cylinder that facilitates complete discharging and wiping of the material from the cylinder tank. The tensioning mechanism of the seal is a T-ring that easily slides on the rear surface of the piston head. In order to stabilize the movement of the piston head down the cylinder, clockwise and counterclockwise springs are provided for the stabilizing shoes.
