ANNOUNCEMENT Smith Medal for John Wood The U.S. National Academy of Sciences recently presented its J. Lawrence Smith Medal to Dr. John A. Wood of the Harvard/Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. The award is for Dr. Wood's seminal papers in meteoritics. Particularly since three of Dr. Wood's principal papers on the subject have been published in Icarus (Wood, 1963, 1964, 1967) we are delighted to offer our congratulations to him.
