7th Annual Meeting: October 21–22, 2000, University of Maryland, Baltimore The Society for Acupuncture Research is pleased to announce its year 2000 annual meeting, to be held on the weekend of October 21–22 at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. The meeting will be hosted and co-sponsored by the Complementary Medicine Program of the University of Maryland. Papers and proposals for panels are welcomed. Presentations may address any appropriate area of acupuncture and Oriental medicine research, including research design, surveys, public policy issues, clinical trial results, and physiological mechanisms. Research may focus on herbs, Taiji or Qigong, in addition to the varied forms of acupuncture and acupressure. Papers are especially being solicited for a session that will focus on issues arising and problems encountered during the planning phase of acupuncture research. You are invited to present your protocol design or to share unexpected difficulties in implementing your project. Panels are currently being planned on: • Future directions in acupuncture and Oriental medicine research
