Biological Psychiatry. ° Officers, Councilors, and Committee Chairmen will meet on Wednesday, May 9, 1990 from 1:00-5:00 PM. The council reception will be held at 8:30 PM. • Announcement of the A.E. Bennett Award winners and plcsentation of papers will be Thursday, May 10, 1990 at 9:00 AM. • The Presidential Lecture will be given on Thursday, May 10, 1990 at 11:00 AM by Dr. David J. Kupfer, President of the Society, and Professor and Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine/WPIC.

• The Annual Business Meeting will be held on Friday, May 11, 1990 at 5:15 aM. This will be the only business session of the Convention. • The journal, Biological Psychiatry, invites all members of the Editorial Committee and Editorial Board to be its luncheon guests at 12:00 NOON on Friday, May 11, 1990 at Cafe Fontana in the Sheraton Centre Hotel and Tower. • The Distinguished Academic Lecture will be given by Bruce McEwen, Ph.D., Professor, Department of Neuroscience, Rockefeller University on Thursday, May 10, 1990 at 10:00 AM. • On Saturday, May 12, 1990, the President's Reception will be held at 6:00 PM and the President's Banquet will be held at 7:00 I'M. The registration fee for members and nonmembers includes admission to the banquet. However, banquet tickets are optional for residents, graduates, or students. A few banquet tickets will be available at the Registration Office at a cost of $60 each for guests, residents, graduates, and students. • The Society of Biological Psychiatry offers two annual awards made possible by the A.E. Bennett National Neuropsychiatric Research Foundation and the Society of Biological Psychiatry. The awards consist of $1,500 for the two best research papers offered, one in basic science and one in clinical science. The awards are given to young investigators, not necessarily members of the Society of Biological Psychiatry, for work that has been completed but not published. • The Gold Medal Award is presented for distinguished research in Biological Psychiatry to honor pioneer work in the field. A gold medal and citation are awarded for significant contemporary contributions to the advancement and extension of knowledge in biological psychiatry. The recipient of the award is determined by the Gold Medal Award Committee and the President of the Society. • The George N. Thompson Founder's Award was established to honor a Society member who has contributed significantly to the welfare of the organization. The award consists of a plaque and is presented by the President of the Society to the recipient or delegate at the annual banquet of the Society. • All program participants are required to pay full registration fees. Prepaid registration fees are $125 for members; $150 for nonmembers; and $50 for residents, fellows, graduates, and students. After April 15, 1990, registration fees are $150 for members; $175 for nonmembers; and $75 for residents, fellows, graduates, and students.
